The religion was harder to acquire in the past but the methods in which kids were taught were much more simpler. Children went to the Masjid, learnt off of a book and a teacher. The traditional way of teaching kids has changed drastically. In this article, we will discuss the way online technology has changed the way our children study and learn Islam.

Anywhere, any place, any time

50 years ago, all the books and teachers used to be at one place. In the Masjid. Children had to travel long distances to acquire knowledge. However, with the introduction of the internet, children don't need to go anywhere. It doesn't matter what part of the world they are in, as long as they are connected to the internet, they will be able to learn from a teacher and access most of the books they need to further their knowledge.

Easy and accessible learning is what online Quran classes bring to the table. Teachers are available to teach from the other side of the world all through a zoom or similar portal.

Methods of learning

The old method of learning was strictly through books. Online learning has changed this altogether. There are now games and animated videos that children learn from. Interactive learning is becoming more and more popular as it helps to explain with more than just words.

The Quran Hours tutors use interactive methods to teach kids as young as 5!

Access to knowledge

In the old days, books were the main source of information. People had to travel to a certain place to access these books to learn and gain knowledge. However, now we have access to all books on the internet.

Online Quran classes use material such as Noor Al Bayan or Qadia Noorania through online portals.

Final Thoughts

The internet has made it easy and accessible for people to learn and gain knowledge. However, it can be argued that due to this ease and comfort, people value this very knowledge much less than they did in the past.

However, the internet has been a fantastic place for children to learn the Quran online.
