Tips for parents trying to teach their children the Quran for the first time

Learning to read the Quran is a very vital part of being a Muslim. One of the first things Muslim children learn is how to read the Quran.

However, in todays fast paced world, many children do not have the time to learn the Quran. That leaves the parents wondering what to do and how to teach their child the Quran whilst on the go. In this article, we will be giving parents tips on what they can do to help teach their child the Quran.

Create an Interest

The first thing you must do is create an environment where the child starts to take an interest in the Quran. You will do this by reading the Quran yourself in front of your children on a daily basis. When your child sees this it will automatically generate a form of interest as children are influenced by their parents. Try to read the Quran within your children's vicinity.

Activity-based learning

Young children have short attention spans therefore giving them lecture style lessons can go over their heads. Therefore, it is essential to implement play-based learning with games and activities. You can try by making them draw the alphabets and also making them listen to audio of the Quran.

Create a community

Get your children to learn with their siblings and friends. This will encourage them to learn and compete with each other. Children are influenced by their peers and having their friends and siblings learn the same topic of Quran will give them that influence.

Online Quran Classes

If you feel that you don't have the time to teach your children the Quran, then you may give this responsibility to online Quran institutes such as The Quran Hour. The Quran Hour will teach your children the Quran in an easy and fun way in the comfort of their own homes.
