Believe it or not, there are some downsides of an online Quran platform. Although we are an online Quran institute, we aren't ignorant to the problems of online teaching. In this article we will discuss what the downsides of online Quran classes for kids and students are.
Truth be told, if you don't do it right, online learning lacks the real essence of face to face teaching. The lack of someone being present can make the student (especially if they are a child) lazy. Being present makes the student more willing to focus and learn.
When one is present, they can point to the mistakes and explain more freely whereas in an online class, to point out the mistake and explain is more time consuming and difficult albeit possible.
Most online Quran classes provide a 30 minute teaching slot. Truth be told, if you are looking for your son or daughter to pick up Quran recitation quickly, then you would need more time than 30 minutes.
Having said this, the 30 minutes are one to one and most madrassa classes are all group based. These groups are 2 hours long so still give the child more time. This however means the child could be neglected and may fall behind due to the lack of focus being put on them.
Going to the Madrassa every day creates a mindset. Changing your environment for your Quran learning helps to give students a sense of seriousness and focus. In an online Quran class for children, the child will be studying at home. It can be important for some students to change the environment of where they study in order to become more focused.
Online Quran classes for kids has its place and as Quran reading and learning advocates, we take the best interest of the student as priority so it is important to mention that Madrassas also have their place. Both accommodate to different needs thus if you are deciding whether to put your child in an online Quran class, consider the above points.
