How the Quran can impact your child's life

The Quran is the word of Allah and is the most important book on the planet. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) encouraged us to read it and make it a daily part of our lives.

However, what are the real benefits of reading the Quran and how can the Quran impact your child's life?

Blessings from reading the Quran

Reciting the Quran is part of remembrance (zikir). It is also a form of Ibadah. When you do zikir, you will attain inner peace and solace as mentioned in the Quran:

الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَتَطمَئِنُّ قُلوبُهُم بِذِكرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلا بِذِكرِ اللَّهِ تَطمَئِنُّ القُلوبُ

Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah, hearts are assured”

Furthermore, you will be rewarded for every letter you read from the Quran. Yes! You read it right, not 1 surah, not 1 ayat, not 1 word, but you will be rewarded for each letter that is recited from the verses of the Quran.

Aishah r.a reported:

مَن قَرَأَ حَرْفًا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ بِهِ حَسَنَةٌ وَالْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا لاَ أَقُولُ الم حَرْفٌ وَلَكِنْ أَلِفٌ حَرْفٌ وَلاَمٌ حَرْفٌ وَمِيمٌ حَرْفٌ ‏

Whoever recites a letter from Allah's Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it.

Encourage your children to gain these blessings so they can benefit from this for the rest of their lives.

Holding on to Islam

Making Quran reading a habit will act as an anchor for your children. Life throws many difficulties and although we try to guide our children as much as we can, they can still go on a path of their own. However, if they have a habit of reading the Quran from a young age, no matter where they are in life, the Quran will always keep them grounded in their faith.

Discipline

Reading the Quran consistently is a discipline that is positive. It helps to give your children a sense of routine and consistency that can also help to make it easy for them to read their 5 time prayers and other disciplines of life.

Final thoughts

Make reading the Quran a habit in yourselves and your children as nothing but positivity will come of it. If your children need help to read the Quran, then sign them up to an online Quran class.
