Most Quran institutes conduct 30 minute 1 to 1 classes, however, is this really enough time for your child to achieve the goals they want to? We will discuss how much time your child will need in online Quran classes depending on what their goals are.
30 minute classes are short and brief. Although they are 1 to 1, not much can be gained from these classes. The best candidates for a class of this time would be children aged between 5 and 10. This would be ideal for kids who have a very small understanding of reading the Quran.
For anyone above this age/level range mentioned above, if you aren't doing 30 minutes every day for 5 days, then it is not beneficial.
A 45 minute class would be ideal if you are looking to do a couple of classes a week. Bare in mind, if they are 1 to 1 then this applies.
A lot of institutes tend to do group classes in 45 minute ranges, however this is not sufficient enough time to give to each child even if the group consisted of only 2 persons.
This is a good enough time for someone who is looking to further their Quran reading skills. Even if you only did 2 one hour classes, we believe for basic goals such as tajweed improvement, 1 hour classes are very beneficial.
Online Quran institutes provide a service where people are able to do Hifz Ul Quran (memorisation of the Quran.) However, these institutes deem it okay to only give 30 minute classes for someone looking to achieve this massive goal.
The Quran Hour is completely against such a practice as something so difficult needs much more time. Hifz of the Quran will need 1 hour 1 to 1 classes every day for 5 days a week- minimum. Anything less, it will not benefit the person as such a task needs ample time to really achieve it.
A 30 minute class is very beneficial only for children who are looking to achieve small tasks such as learning tajweed and completing the recitation of the Quran. However, if you have bigger goals such as memorising the Quran, it will take 1 hour every day for 5 days minimum.
